Communications
School Newsletter
The School Newsletter is published every
second Monday online and a printed copy is distributed to the eldest child in the family. The newsletter includes recognition of student achievement, weekly events, canteen price lists and rosters, excursion notices, information sessions for parents, community notices and prior notification of upcoming events. The newsletter is our major means of communication between the school and home, so we ask that you ensure you receive a copy each week and carefully read it. This will guarantee that you are kept up to date with school policies, procedures and activities at Dudley Public School.
Parental Involvement
All research indicates that the link between home and school is a vital one for the child. Parental interest and involvement contributes greatly to the creation of an optimal learning environment for the child. Parent assistance is welcome;
Reporting to Parents
This year the Department of Education and Training has developed a new reporting format that will be completed twice yearly.
At the beginning of the school year, class teachers will outline their class routines and teaching programs to parents. Stage outcomes and indicators will also be discussed and assessment tasks explained.
Parents can make appointments with teachers at any time to discuss their children’s performance and progress. At the beginning of Term 3 Parent/Student interviews are conducted by class teachers to explain the report on student’s progress in relation to stage outcomes. At the end of Term 4, an end-of-year student report is sent home to parents.
